Mercury View Lofts
The residential lofts of Mercury View rise out of a renovated two-story warehouse base also designed by Manuel Zeitlin Architects. The 1st mixed use loft project in the Nashville gulch, mercury view is a landmark project for Nashville. This multi-use building features 32 residential units, a 24-hour commercial bakery, an art gallery, several restaurants and a music venue making it a hub of Nashville night life.
Exposed Concrete, corrugated steel and low-e solar green glass were used to artfully combine old warehouse spaces with new construction. The residential portion was developed by penetrating through the existing warehouse structures to form a superstructure for the residential lofts.
MVL was one of the first uses of bio-swales and porous paving in Nashville. Water is collected in the parking lot, filtered through permeable soil and plantings and slowly released into the city storm water system. We worked closely with our Landscape Architecture and Planning consultant, Hawkins Partners, to work with Metro Agencies to embrace this alternative approach.
