Temple Ark
MZA was commissioned by The Temple, Congregation Ohabai Sholom in Nashville, to create a sculptural, dramatic Ark and Bimah to support outdoor worship. Asked to create a powerful point of attention that would be a balance to the temple courtyard and be eye-catching, MZA designed a kinetic form rising out of the earth and directed towards the sky, symbolizing the tree of life. Crafted in steel with a warm patina finish that complements adjacent natural stone, the sculpture's faceted surfaces stunningly reflect sunlight, creating a captivating dance of shadows. The outcome is an enduring centerpiece that enriches the congregation’s outdoor worship by enhancing their bond with nature and their sacred space.
