Nashville Holocaust Memorial
MZA designed the Nashville Holocaust Memorial on property given by the Gordon Jewish Community Centeras a moving but positive place of remembrance. At its core stands Alex Limor's moving sculpture, a symbolic "Ner Tamid" (eternal light) that casts a light down on a book whose pages have been torn out symbolizing missing lives. Seventeen Seats of Honor encircle this center, each dedicated to survivors who lived in Nashville, grounding the memorial in deep, personal stories. The memorial’s reflective nature sends a crucial message: the Holocaust was not a distant historical event, but a personal tragedy for Nashville's own community
