Eskind Residence
MZA designed the Eskind Residence, an 8,000-square-foot modern home on a high-profile corner in Nashville's Belle Meade neighborhood. The client desired a home that was equally about privacy and openness, a retreat that remained highly accessible to the outdoors. The home winds around an interior pool and garden, large window walls engulfing the environmentally conscious landscape and dissolving the boundary between interior and exterior space. Going to the street side, mahogany windows and stone walls convey a warm, understated sophistication. The rear elevation is the minimalist equivalent with white stucco and aluminum storefront windows. MZA's design produces two faces, public and private, but maintains a single architectural identity. This light-filled, peaceful home is at once earthy yet expansive, giving its owners everyday access to nature without sacrificing comfort or style.
